Welcome to Assistly, a school-supported community referral network operated by Indian Hill High School students. By creating an account or participating in Assistly, you agree to the terms of this Participant Agreement.
Participants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
1. Definitions
- Assistly — The online platform that connects participating Families with Student Helpers.
- Participant — Any student, parent, guardian, family, volunteer, school representative, or administrator using Assistly.
- Student Helper — An approved student participant who voluntarily provides age-appropriate assistance to participating Families.
- Family — A parent, guardian, or authorized adult requesting assistance through Assistly.
- Task — A request for age-appropriate assistance posted through Assistly.
- Referral Platform — A technology platform that introduces participants but does not employ, supervise, or direct the services performed.
2. Purpose
Assistly exists to strengthen communities by connecting trusted student helpers with families seeking age-appropriate assistance.
Assistly helps:
- build workplace skills;
- encourage community engagement;
- strengthen neighborhood connections; and
- provide convenient access to student helpers.
3. Eligibility
Participants agree that:
- Families are at least 18 years old.
- Student Helpers must be at least 13 years old, and Families and Student Helpers meet Assistly's other eligibility requirements.
- Parents or guardians consent to participation for minors.
- Registration information is accurate and current.
4. Nature of the Platform
Assistly is a referral platform only. Assistly facilitates introductions and communication.
Assistly does not:
- employ Student Helpers;
- supervise work;
- direct services;
- negotiate agreements;
- guarantee work quality;
- guarantee payment;
- act as a staffing agency;
- act as a contractor.
Families and Student Helpers independently determine whether to work together.
5. Independent Relationships
Families and Student Helpers independently determine:
- whether to work together;
- scheduling;
- compensation;
- transportation;
- supervision;
- cancellation;
- completion of services.
Assistly is not a party to these agreements.
6. Payments
Unless Assistly announces otherwise:
- Payments occur directly between Families and Student Helpers — by cash, Venmo, Zelle, or any method they agree upon.
- Assistly does not collect or distribute payments.
- Assistly is not responsible for payment disputes.
7. Participant Responsibilities
Participants agree to:
- provide truthful information;
- communicate respectfully;
- follow the Community Safety & Trust Policy;
- comply with all applicable laws;
- report safety concerns promptly;
- respect participant privacy.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Participants may not:
- harass or discriminate;
- engage in fraud or misrepresentation;
- request prohibited or hazardous work;
- violate participant privacy;
- use Assistly for unlawful purposes;
- misuse the platform.
Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.
9. Safety
Participants agree to:
- exercise reasonable judgment;
- follow Assistly safety guidelines;
- immediately report unsafe conditions;
- decline opportunities that appear unsafe;
- contact emergency services during emergencies.
10. Assumption of Risk
Participation in Assistly is voluntary.
Participants understand that community activities involve ordinary risks, including but not limited to:
- travel;
- household work;
- tutoring;
- yard work;
- pet care;
- technology assistance;
- interactions with other participants;
- accidental injury;
- property damage.
Participants voluntarily assume these ordinary risks.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for their child. Families remain responsible for maintaining a reasonably safe environment.
11. Release & Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participants release and hold harmless Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub, Assistly, participating schools, sponsors, volunteers, directors, officers, employees, and agents from claims arising from participation in Assistly or services arranged through the platform.
This release does not apply to claims arising from a released party's gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot legally be waived.
Participants understand that Assistly does not guarantee:
- participant conduct;
- service quality;
- payment;
- task completion;
- participant qualifications beyond any verification process.
12. Privacy
Participants agree to:
- provide accurate information;
- protect participant privacy;
- use contact information only for Assistly purposes.
Assistly will collect and use information according to its Privacy Policy.
13. Suspension or Termination
Assistly may suspend or terminate participation for:
- safety concerns;
- policy violations;
- harassment;
- discrimination;
- fraud;
- repeated complaints;
- conduct inconsistent with Assistly's mission.
Assistly may immediately suspend accounts when necessary to protect participant safety.
14. Changes
Assistly may revise this Agreement periodically. Continued participation after revisions become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Any legal proceeding relating to this Agreement shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Ohio, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Participant Acknowledgment
By creating an account or participating in Assistly, I certify that I have read and understand this Participant Agreement, including the Terms of Use and Assumption of Risk. I understand that Assistly is a referral platform and not an employer, staffing agency, contractor, or payment processor. I voluntarily agree to participate under these terms.
This acknowledgment is confirmed when you create your Assistly account, either in the app or through the
Household Verification /
Parent/Guardian Consent forms. Participants under 18 additionally require parent or guardian consent, collected through the Parent/Guardian Consent form.
